Protect Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself: New Body Armor Choices at Interbike - Leatt:
As an Interbike newbie this year, I tagged along with Aaron for his first few appointments on the show floor, and our initial stop was Leatt. We learned all about their Armourgel material, which is squishy and flexible while you’re wearing it, but hardens upon impact. We got to test it out by covering our hands with this Play-Doh-like substance and then banging on ourselves with a hammer.
As you can tell, I was pretty timid at first, but clearly the stuff works. Armourgel is used on their Airflex collection of knee and elbow pads, as well as in their helmets, for comfortable and flexible protection.
Other protection products that Leatt offers include the Airfit line of soft chest protectors constructed of a multi-layered foam, hard shell chest protectors, hard knee and elbow guards, and neck braces, which is the product that initially put Leatt on the map. New for this year, they’ve made a significant expansion into apparel, which you can read about inAaron’s article.
