Leatt: Double design & award winner 2016

Leatt: Double design & award winner 2016: The Design & Innovation Award 2016 was put together to applaud the world’s best and most innovative products by recognizing potential in order to steer trends along the right path. More than 40 experts from 10 different nations gathered in Kronplatz/San Vigilio, the Dolomites, in October 2015 to test, analyse and judge the worlds most innovative and exciting bikes and products for the 2016 season. Various categories, each with a wide selection of criteria were taken into consideration when judging and awarding.

Leatt is proud to report that the ground-breaking Leatt DBX 5.0 Composite Helmet and the Leatt DBX Enduro Lite WP 2.0 Hydration Pack were both announced as winners of the prestigious Design & Innovation Awards 2016.

Leatt DBX 5.0 Composite V12-Helmet:
Leatt has been pioneering neck braces for many years, so they understand mountain bike protection. It’s no surprise to see that their new DBX 5.0 Helmet is optimised for neck brace use and offers full hydration system compatibility. The in-moulded liner features 360o Turbine technology that absorbs low energy impacts, allowing movement of the outer shell in an impact. The DBX 5.0 also features a dual-density, volume-reducing, in-moulded EPS liner with V-shaped foam cones to reduce impact forces in an accident. The low-volume shell helps keep the weight down and reduces rotational forces in a crash, while the visor styling adds a unique look.

Leatt DBX Enduro Lite WP 2.0: The Leatt DBX Enduro Lite WP 2.0 offers an innovative new approach to backpacks. The fully waterproof and seam-welded construction keeps your belongings dry in the worst of weather, while neat internal organization keeps the contents in place (there’s even a touchscreen phone pocket to help keep you connected). However, the DBX is more than just a backpack, as the addition of the Level 1 back protector will please racers and safety-conscious riders alike – but it’s the clever harness that impresses most! The unique chest harness does away with the waist strap and provides a very secure and stable fit, even on the toughest downhills. Well recommended.
